11 months

At the end of August, Bridget and Ethan turned 11 months! I can't believe it! Mostly because no one really says 11 months, they usually go with almost a year to explain this age. This has been such a light year time, I can't gt my mind around them being almost one. I think we have had a fun month. a trip to the beach, lots of swimming at Grandparents house, busy with therapy, and really hitting some milestones. Both babies are pulling themselves up to standing, and moving across the couch. They are eating more solids and working on those finger foods. Bridget had her two middle bottom teeth in and is getting the two top canine teeth. She will be chewing in no time at all. Ethan is getting one of his bottom front teeth! He is no longer toothless McGee, which I like to call him. They are both moving all over the house and getting into everything, Its great!!! I can't wait to see what they are going to do next.! They love to go outside our house and play in the little park in the evenings, here are a few pics we were able to take.

The Beach

Last month we took another day trip up to Carpenteria Beach. We love it so much and always have a good time.

Ethan loved to play in the sand! And loved to make "mean" faces at me

A boy and his Dad, what could get any better then that.
Bridget likes to look at the sand from a safe distance.
So much fun!
Bridget did get out onto the sand for a little while to play with Dad.

But in the end she was too tired, she snuggled up with her Grandma and passed out. It was such a beautiful and fun day.

Crawling, Standing, and Cruising

Here is a little update on the progress around here. Bridget has been army crawling for about a month and a half now. She loves it! She gets around everywhere. Ethan had not mastered it until recently. He has other ideas of thing to work on. He can not successfully get himself into sitting, this has taken much practice and persistence. The poor boy spends most of the day trying to do it all himself and he does not give up until he masters it. Bridget is still working on it with the help of her physical therapist, Julie. So, up until a few weeks ago I have had only one baby on the move, it was tricky but do able, boy did I not know what was coming. Ethan started army crawling and then about a week later he started full crawling on his hands and knees as fast as he can, with no problems at all. And he was everywhere!!! That day I ran around after him, moving everything that wasn't nailed down to the floor. By the end of the day I was exhausted. That evening I was replaying the day to Joseph, feeding Bridget her bottle on the couch, and up crawls Ethan, puts his hands on the top of the couch and boom standing!!!!! Not only standing but side stepping he way towards me! He is now pulling himself up in everything and loving every minute of it. I am glad to day that this week Bridget is now pulling up to standing as well! I don't have a picture yet but I'm working on it.

Happy Babies

Wouldn't you be happy if you woke up to seeing this every morning:

My little ones are the happiest babies in the morning. I walk in the room and their faces just light up and I am instantly ready to start the morning. I am so blessed to be their mother. If everyone had these smiles waiting for them to start the day, the world would be a different happier place.

Highchair fun

Lately we have been changing our eating habits here. We are trying to move from four bottles to three and eat more solid baby food and then eat more finger foods. It is very exciting! Also i have found very exhausting. Making bottles, feeding jar food and making something for finger fun and practice. It seams like we are spending most of the day eating. Its a bit of a transition but Ethan and Bridget are loving it. Most of the time they look like I am giving them poison when we try new finger foods, but soon after they cant get enough. It is really fun to be able to watch them figure out there hands and how to chew. These we an example of nectarines, and they are the biggest hit so far!!!

Fun In My Crib

Last week Ethan discovered the joys of playing in is bed. It seemed like every time I wen tin to get him he was in a new position, or he was playing peek a boo with the bumper with Bridget, or learning to toss his Binky to the other side of the room. But two instances were the best. After nap time I go to get Ethan and this is the picture that I see:

A very smiley face boy with a completely dismantled mobile. He managed to pull himself up with the crib bumper and them grab one of the dinosaurs and then somehow snapped the bar holding it up high and then unhooked the main part and pull it down to him. Hmmm, not sure how it all worked but he did it and was very proud of himself, and the mobile was beyond repair.
Later that week I come it to see this:

As you can see, again a very happy boy, very proud of himself. He managed to sit up on his own! He had been practicing this trick for a while now in Physical therapy and has been soo close for so long and finally success! A few more day of practice and he is now a master sitter.

All in a good weeks work. Hey if they are not sleeping at least they are keeping themselves entertained.

10 months

Its has gone so fast but my babies are getting older every second. I can't believe that they are ten months already! We didn't make it to the Dr. for their 9 month appointment until 9 1/2 months so this is a 9month and 10month post combined. It is amazing how much they have learned in such a short time. They both are now moving all over he house with their combat crawl. Bridget is sitting up all on her own, and Ethan can now get into sitting from laying all by himself! I love to watch how persistent they are. When they cant do something they try and try again until they finally get it right. It is really inspiring to see. As stats go, as of 7/15 Bridget is 25.75 inches and 15.6 lbs! A recent trip to the Dr. had her weighing at 16.2 lbs. Ethan is 27 inches and 17.4 lbs! And a recent weigh for him was 18lbs. They are just climbing up the charts.
